Who We Are
Design Palestine is an international design collective. We are volunteer architects, landscape architects, engineers, geographers, designers and artists.

How We Work
The projects we take on are defined, grounded, and prioritized by the communities we work with. Our primary partners are 1for3 and the Lajee Center through which we support other organizations as needed.

Design Palestine is a non-political and non-partisan organization.

Our Approach
We adopt planning processes that preserve cultural heritage, respect local knowledge, address climate resilience, and support long-term sustainable development and a circular economy.

Our Practice
  • Design, consultation, or construction of projects in the built environment (inclusive of architecture, landscape, agriculture, arts, etc.)
  • Planning and development
  • Graphic design
  • Storytelling and Infographics
  • Support and consultation for grassroots enterprises
  • Research and scholarship
  • Fundraising efforts that directly support projects and initiatives

Rooftop Gardens
It is proving to be a bountiful summer in Aida Camp! The community hydroponic gardens on the Lajee Center rooftop have produced amazing harvests of green beans, cucumbers, and red swiss chard weighing over 440 pounds so far this season!

This produce was carefully picked and packaged by the Health 4 Palestine Community Health Workers and distributed to dozens of families. Soon, harvest for cherry tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers will begin. 1for3’s success in managing the community hydroponic gardens and family rooftop gardens has inspired 35 more families to join the rooftop garden program this summer. Many of these families are generational farmers displaced from their original farm lands.
